From Marketing to User Experience

I began my career in marketing in a small technical recruiting firm where I learned the ins and outs of the Denver startup world. Since then, I have been working in marketing and communications strategy at EmblemHealth, in New York City, and Front Range Source Consulting and The Colorado Department of Law, in Denver.

I decided to make the transition to UX during the COVID-19 pandemic, where I (along with the rest of the world) was using more digital tools to complete basic tasks. This sparked my interest,  as I’ve always been an empathetic person with the desire to make the world a more accessible place.

I began my user experience design fellowship with General Assembly in January of 2022, where I successfully completed 500+ hours of expert-led instruction in user research, user interface design, ideation and hands on learning of user experience (UX)  fundamentals and the industry's most in demand technologies.

Fun Fact: Right out of college, I founded a social media company called WizKid Social. We linked up local businesses to college students who would post 2-5 times/week for them, as an alternative to hiring a full-time coordinator or agency. This later allowed me to move to New York City.

The Fun Stuff

When I'm not asking users about their feelings or designing, you can find me outside, most likely with my four year-old cattle dog, Billy! I love to ski, hike, cook, eat, and travel. I've been to 19 countries and hope to visit many more.
